Dr. Sanjay Prasad

Sr. Otolaryngology -

A practitioner of otolaryngology head and neck surgery, Dr. Prasad has always placed a premium on sharing knowledge—with patients and doctors alike. In his own practice he has adopted the motto, “an educated patient makes the best patient,” and he follows it with conviction.

Dr. Prasad is widely published in medical journals and books, and speaks frequently at national and international scientific meetings on multiple topics related to neurotology and skull base surgery. He is a clinical assistant professor at both Georgetown University Hospital and The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Maryland and earning his medical degree there as well, Dr. Prasad interned in general surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. After his certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Prasad completed advanced fellowship training in otology and neurotology as well as advanced head and neck oncologic (skull base) surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

    Dr. Arenstein received his M.D. degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta,Georgia in 1987. He also received his B.A from Emory University where he majored in Music. Dr.Arenstein completed internships in both internal medicine and surgery. He then completed his training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in 1993.

    Dr. Arenstein is Board Certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.

    Dr. Arenstein served as President of the Washington Metropolitan Otolaryngology Society in 2007. He is the author and co-author of several scientific articles. His special interests include rhinoplasty, pediatrics, thyroid surgery, laryngology and care of the "professional voice" as well as endoscopic sinus surgery.

    During his years of medical education, Dr. Arenstein performed as a jazz pianist and continues to do so in the Washington metropolitan area. Dr. Arenstein resides in Maryland with his wife Laura and daughter Ellie.

      Dr. Jay Srivatsan

      Director of Anesthesia

      Dr. Jay Srivatsan became anesthesia director at Tower Oaks Surgery Center in August 2013. He is knowledgeable in both adult and pediatric anesthesia. While working in private-practice for several years, he had the opportunity to work in multiple hospitals across many states. This helped him to gain a broad view of the practice of anesthesia and expand his skills.

      Dr. Srivatsan has a very diverse professional and academic background. He graduated from Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. While working full-time, he pursued a master’s degree in toxicology from New York Medical College before going to medical school at Ross University. He completed his residency at the University of Rochester and was certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2007. After practicing anesthesia for four years, Dr. Srivatsan went to the University of Colorado Children’s Hospital to do a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology.

      He is committed to delivering skillful and compassionate anesthesia to both adults and children. Patients may be pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from him prior to surgery. His friendly and approachable demeanor puts his patients at ease. Utilizing a comprehensive approach, Dr. Srivatsan listens to his patients’ concerns and provides them with individualized solutions.

        Dr. Jared Tompkins


        Dr. Tompkins is an Otolaryngologist in the DC Metro area. He grew up in upstate New York, where he attended St. Bonaventure University. Dr. Tompkins then moved to the area to attend medical school at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he met his wife. After completing residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, he returned to the area to practice medicine.

        He has particular interest in sinus surgery and facial plastic surgery. Additionally, he is well versed in pediatric otolaryngology, having trained at the nationally ranked Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Hospital, during residency.

        Dr. Tompkins is active academically, having published in several medical journals and presented research at major academic meetings. He bases his practice of medicine on treating all people with respect and compassion.
